R. Dum dormíret Iacob, vidit scalam pósitam super terram † et
cacúmen eius tangens caelum, et angelos ascendéntes et descendéntes; * Et evígilans
a somno, dixit: † Vere domus Dei haec est.
V. Tollens Iacob lápidem suppósuit cápiti suo, † cumque
obdormísset, vidit in somnis scalam eréctam.
R. Et evígilans a

et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.

R. When Jacob was sleeping he saw a ladder standing upon the
earth, and the top thereof touching heaven: the angels also of God ascending
and descending by it; * And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Truly
this is the house of God.
V. Jacob took the stone which he had laid under his head and
slept on, and saw in his sleep the ladder rising from it.
R. And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Truly this
is the house of God.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy
Ghost.
R. And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Truly this is
the house of God.
