audívi in paradiso, et tímui, † eo quod nudus essem.
R. Et abscóndi
me.

R. When the Lord walked in the garden
in the cool of the day, He called, and said Adam, where art thou? Lord, I
heard thy voice * And I hid myself.
V. I heard thy voice in the garden,
and I was afraid, because I was naked.
R. And I hid myself.
